Not just another comparison site — a travel engine built to actually fit you.
Vacidea: find your next holiday destination differently
Choosing a holiday destination is often harder than it seems. Between comparison sites drowning you in commercial offers, blogs repeating the same “top 10” lists, and social media spotlighting places that are already overcrowded, it is hard to find a place that truly matches how you feel rather than a passing trend. Vacidea was built to solve that problem.
Describe what you want to experience in one sentence, and Vacidea handles the rest: understanding your intent, finding real places through Google Places, then enriching each result with a relevance level, honest watch-outs, and a cheaper alternative when one exists.
Chain multiple activities in a single search
Vacidea understands sequential requests: “cinema then pizza”, “beach then cocktails”, “museum in the morning, lunch nearby”. As soon as you chain two activities in your sentence, the engine organizes results into bundles — each bundle groups one place for the first activity and nearby suggestions for the next one.
If you specify “not far” or “nearby”, the search radius tightens around the first place. For a beach followed by a bar, the engine searches within a radius adapted to the geography of the place — not an arbitrary perimeter. Each bundle stands on its own, so you compare complete options rather than mixing unrelated places.
Search by emotion, not by category
Most travel tools ask you to choose a country, a budget, or a type of accommodation. Vacidea starts from a different principle: what guides the choice of a destination is an emotion, a desire, a mental picture. “Something romantic by the sea, not too touristy” is exactly the kind of sentence Vacidea understands.
The engine identifies your vibe — romantic, contemplative, festive, soft adventure, wild nature, understated luxury, cocooning, isolation — and uses it as the main selection criterion. Classic filters such as budget, duration, and popularity come second, never first.
Real places, enriched and honest
Suggested places come directly from Google Places — with their reviews, ratings, and exact address. Each result is then enriched: why the place matches your intent, what activities are possible there, what atmosphere you can expect, and above all what might disappoint you if you go unprepared.
Disappointment-proofing is one of Vacidea's most important features. A place may look gorgeous in photos and still disappoint certain traveler profiles in real life. Instead of selling a dream, Vacidea gives you an honest picture of what you will actually find there.
Hidden gems or popular destinations: you choose
Each destination receives a popularity score that separates tourism classics from still-confidential spots. The hidden-gem slider pushes results toward underrated destinations, often just as beautiful as their famous counterparts but without the tourist saturation.
On the other hand, if you prefer proven infrastructure — well-connected transport, varied accommodation, tested restaurants — popular destinations remain the safest choice. Vacidea does not judge your preference; it integrates it.
Travel friction: a criterion people often forget
Going to Bali does not involve the same logistical effort as a weekend in Brittany. For each destination, Vacidea calculates a friction score — accessibility, travel time, visa needs, difficulty finding quality accommodation — displayed as a label such as “Easy trip”, “Moderate trip” or “Complex trip”.
For a long 3-day weekend, a high-friction destination is probably not ideal. For two well-planned weeks, it might be exactly what you need.
Duo mode: a compromise between two different wishes
Traveling as a pair often means negotiating. One wants the sea, the other wants the mountains. Compromise mode takes two people's wishes into account at the same time and looks for destinations that satisfy both profiles. Each suggestion explains why it works for both sides — a real collective decision tool for couples, friends, or families.
Search by radius, country, or specific place
Are you in Paris looking for a weekend escape? Radius mode suggests destinations within a defined perimeter from your location. Planning holidays in Japan? Country or specific-place mode targets the desired area directly. Geolocation is optional, and no position data is kept after the search.
Same vibe, cheaper
Some destinations are stunning but out of budget. For every suggestion, Vacidea proposes a cheaper alternative with the same feel. Santorini too expensive? Discover Naxos. These alternatives are generated with the same level of analysis as the main results — not random substitutes.
